I. Professional Orientation
The Master of Postgraduate Program for Traffic Safety Engineering refers to vehicle running safety and energy saving and environmental protection, road tunnels and port and waterway engineering, transportation planning and logistics engineering, intelligent transportation system and waterway transportation and safety engineering and so on. The Master of Postgraduate Program for Safety Engineering is following the orientation which is identified by SDJTU, ‘training the students to be front-line engineers and manager with growth power ‘.
II. Training Objectives
The Master of Traffic Engineering cultivates high level applied navigational talents, they have the solid foundation, they can solve complex engineering problems, they have an international perspective, they adapt to the needs of the economy and social development; it is comprehensive development in education; y they mater the skills and knowledges of modern principles of port engineer and management, navigation project, shipping safety technology and management, and so on; they can engage the job of port safety technology and management, port safety design and produce, port safety testing and monitoring, shipping safety technology and management, port and waterway safety education and training etc in shipping enterprise and institution, government administration and education and training institutions; they are suitable for the modern development of shipping industry, and they have the power of international competition.
III. Curriculum
The principles and requirements of curriculum: it orients engineering application, it targets career requirements, and the comprehensive quality and engineering ability are as the core. The content of the course should emphasize the combination of theory and practice, and also to meet the industry needs.
1.course system:
(1)Public basic courses(16 credits):politics, English, Mathematics, intellectual property and information retrieval, follow the related rules and policies of our country, all above under unified planning.
(2)Professional basic courses and specialized courses(no less than 10credits):Set up based on research direction.
(3)Specialized elective courses(no less than 6 credits):Set up based on research direction.
(4)Specialized lecture(1 credit)。
(5)Thesis proposal(1 credit)。
(6)Professional practice(23 credits)。
